With so many options of what to buy – and how to buy it- it can be hard to know where your purchases come from. It’s less common now to know who produced your clothes or grew your food, but it’s a great feeling when you do. The Medicine Hat Farmer’s Market is full of local goods and is a convenient way to learn about the source of what you buy. Buying good that have been, grown, produced, and sold locally means you know you’re directly supporting the community and the individuals you buy from.

Where and When

The Medicine Hat Farmers Market runs weekly every Saturday from 9am 1pm. It’s hosted at the Cypress Centre Fieldhouse Pavilion in the Medicine Hat Stampede & Exhibition Grounds, centrally in the city. Admission is free but be prepared to spend, because there are so many great things to buy!

What to Buy

The Farmers Market has grown exponentially, welcoming new vendors regularly. There’s really something for everyone’s needs, from produce, home décor, baked goods, clothing items, personal care items, crafts, and beverages. They are a member of the Alberta Farmer’s Market Association and are known for the quality of items at the Market.

Why a Farmers Market?

There are so many reasons to visit the Medicine Hat Farmer’s Market- the products are diverse, quality-made, and economical, and the money you spend goes directly to the vendors and the local community. Besides the products sold, it’s a fun activity to wander through and do some ‘window shopping’. There is also a friendly social community atmosphere, and there’s plenty of community involvement, with local talents often coming in to perform. Make sure when you visit you wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

If you’ll be spending some time in Medicine Hat this summer, spend a few days at the Days Inn Medicine Hat. Stop for our convenient central location and stay for our comfortable rooms and helpful staff.

Canada Day is just around the corner and with the province’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign underway, Alberta is finally starting to reopen.

The weather is turning up and summer is in sight. In Medicine Hat, that means it’s time to get outdoors and enjoy the newfound warmth. Winter was long, and while there are plenty of ways to have fun outside in the winter, spring means it’s easier to have a day outside.
